👊 Inaction is Slow Death
👋 Hello,
Today I will be sharing with you how I became much less prone to stress and fear after adopting a simple philosophy.
⚔️ Fear of the what might happen
If you are anything like me, then you have stressed about something, perhaps losing sleep, losing appetite, and being so anxious that it paralyzed you, only to find that the thing you were stressed about never happened. That exam that you thought you’d fail but didn’t, giving a speech that turned out just alright, waiting on test results for potential illness.
The important part about such fear and stress is that it is usually never going to change the situation. If you already took the test, then being worried for the upcoming 3 days won’t change the results, instead, it would only paralyze you and steal 3 valuable days from your life that you could have lived happily. Seneca, a Roman stoic philosopher said:
“We suffer more often in imagination than in reality”
encouraging us to live the day without worries about things that will probably not happen anyway, and even if they did, our worries only rob us of the gift of today!

📕 Book: The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit (and When to Stick) (80 pages)
Before reading this book, I would either pick up things and never stick to them, or fear picking up things because I wasn’t sure if I want to stick to them, but after reading this book, I have a better system that helps me choose, with confidence, whether something is worth pursuing or not.
“Never quit something with great long-term potential just because you can’t deal with the stress of the moment,” and if you feel like you are going to quit when things get hard and it is not worth the effort, then quit early, aka: don’t start, and focus on the things that are worth it despite the hardship.

🍿 Movies I love: Yes Man (2008)
Stopping inaction and cracking laughs for 1.5 hours straight!Although it is a comedy/drama movie, the saying “YES!” to things philosophy actually influenced me and changed the way I think.
